Minneapolis: The Gayest City In America

UPDATE: The lovely people at A.V. Club Twin Cities report on the good news and on Gawker‘s rather pissy reply.  To which our intrepid gurhl reporters say: Get over yourself, Mary!

Praise Dorothy!  The Advocate has just released the gayest cities in America and guess which city is number one?

From The Article:

1. Minneapolis

Over the past decade, Minneapolis has become the gay magnet city of the Midwest. It makes sense: People here are no-nonsense, practical, and don’t deal well with hypocrites. This is where the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America took a historic leap forward and voted to accept gay and lesbian pastors, including the Reverend Mary Albing, the denomination’s first openly lesbian pastor. And Minnesota senator Al Franken introduced the Student Non-Discrimination Act to protect LGBT youth from school bullies. But that’s not all. Minneapolis also has the very hot Mayhem rugby team (MayhemRFC.com) and a thriving bear community with events like Bob’s Bear Bash, every Wednesday night at the Saloon (SaloonMN.com).

This is one of the times where we are not going to be snarky at all.  This is wonderful.  So well done to all the nancy boys, bull dykes, trannies, closet cases, and all of our LGBT friends and family (many of whom are our beloved intrepid gurhl reporters) for this one.  We are proud of all of you (yes You!) and we couldn’t imagine this city or this scene without any of you.

This calls for a musical number.  Hit it Judy!

Many thanks to fashionista, LOL/OMG reporter, and gay icon in training Marina Maric for alerting us to this.
