ARTCRANK presents Pre-Event Group Rides

Chickens, here we are recovering from the madness that was Crystal Castles at First Avenue (one word: pandemonium) when we received a communique from the lovely people at ARTCRANK.  It seems that they’ve set the date and time for the opening night party: Saturday April 2 starting at 5pm at Shelter Studios in Minneapolis.  Now, you all know that we have been waiting in eager anticipation for this vehn diagram of awesomeness (art + bikes + beer + cool people = do we need to go on?).  What really has us excited is that several fabulous people and organizations are organizing pre-Artcrank rides. While there are a record making five pre-event rides/parties (and we encourage you to do at least one of them) there are two that leapt off the page:

  • The fabulous children of 30 Days of Biking will once again be holding the legendary Short Shorts Ride, a salacious romp through the cities in your skivvies.  Last year’s ride was one of the most memorable events of the entire 30 Days cycle.  By the way, if you haven’t done so already, sign up for 30 Days of Biking right now.  We’ll talk abut them in another post but the long and short of it is this: most of the fun that happens in this town (and a surprising number of movers and shakers in the scene and practically all of our intrepid girl and gurhl reporters) are bicycling devotees.  But back to this post…
  • Clockwork Media (who just won an award for being a biker friendly business, is throwing a family friendly biking party which leads to a ride to Artcrank.  We think this is something that is sorely needed: more family-friendly events that encourage proper riding habits in the young.

However you get there, we will see you there on April 2nd.
