Dear Oscar Would Approve

Chickens, our more litterary girl (and especially guhrl) reporters are rolling on the floor in laughter, bloody Mary mix shooting out of their nostrils.  Why?  Well the good folks at Playbill.com have shared the following five videos created by Santino Fontana and David Furr, who star as Algernon and Jack respectively in the Roundabout Theatre Company‘s revival of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance Of Being Earnest. Basically the boys read transcripts of Jersey Shore completely in character. Watch it right now!!

And if you’re wondering if this has a local connection, it most certainly does: Santino graduated from the U of M / Guthrie Theater BFA Acting program a few years ago.  Most famously, he also played the title role in the Guthrie’s production of Hamlet, which was the last show the Guthrie did at the old space on Vineyard Place.
